Lawrenceville Man Identified as Atlanta Homicide Victim

Gwinnett County Police say the body found at an Atlanta intersection is that of a Lawrenceville man.

The victim is identified as 33-year-old Diego Ramirez.

Ramirez’s wife told police she last saw him on Saturday, August 17 when he left home to go out with some friends.

At about 10pm that evening, someone called 911 reporting hearing screams and gunshots at 6460 Buford Highway in unincorporated Doraville. Officers responding to the scene did not find a victim, but did find shell casings and a significant amount of blood.

Ramirez’s car was found not too far from the crime scene in Doraville.

On Sunday afternoon, Atlanta Police were called to the scene at the intersection of Proctor St. at Tazor St. NW. When officers arrived to the scene, they found the body of a man lying in an embankment. That man was later identified as Ramirez.

Police are working on figuring out exactly what happened leading up to the death of the Ramirez.
