A writer and editor for more than 25 years, Helen Kelley has worked in a wide range of environments, including associations, nonprofits, publishing, healthcare and academia. In 1989, she established Write Words, which provides professional writing and editorial services. Her client list includes national trade publications, community newspapers, technology companies, local arts guides, small businesses, healthcare facilities and nonprofits, among others.

Helen attended the University of Georgia, where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in media management. While there, she held a graduate assistantship and was one of the first students selected to participate on the judging committees for the prestigious George Foster Peabody broadcasting awards.

Volunteering, animals and green causes are some of Helen's passions. She is a member of Happy Tails Pet Therapy, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic pet visitation to hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, shelters and other groups throughout the metro Atlanta area, and has served on its board of directors. She is also a member of the Green Chamber of the South, an organization that promotes growth, innovation and success of sustainability among businesses. Helen recently became a beekeeper, starting two hives of honeybees in her back yard.

She lives in Roswell with her husband, two rescued Shelties and a rescued bunny...and, of course, thousands of honeybees.

Hellen writes regular features on pets and health for Johns Creek Patch.
