Gwinnett Police Investigate Lawrenceville Police Shooting
The unidentified officer shot and killed a suspect in a domestic violence case on Dec. 11.
The Lawrenceville police officer who shot and killed a domestic violence suspect who tried to grab another officer's gun remains on administrative leave, police said Monday. The Dec. 11 death of 28-year-old Vince Felio marked the first time in at least 25 years an officer has shot and killed someone, according to Lawrenceville Police Department spokesman Capt. Greg Vaughn. He's a 29-year veteran of the department, which includes 72 sworn officers. "Fortunately, I've never had to shoot anyone," said Vaughn, "so I can't imagine how the officer feels."
