Hobby Lobby 'Appreciation Day' Scheduled for Jan. 5 as Company Faces a $1 Million a Day Fine

Gwinnett Med Buys Shopping Plaza

The Lawrenceville hospital will move some of its outpatient services across the street to where Hobby Lobby used to be.

Gwinnett Medical Center making room for growth.  The Lawrenceville hospital recently purchased a plaza across the road from its main campus. They currently own 88,000 square feet in the Springfield Park Plaza on Pike Street. This is the plaza Hobby Lobby recently moved out of.  GMC plans to convert the 195,000 square foot addition into an outpatient campus. In an email to Patch, spokesperson Beth Okun said "the space can be used to house a number of departments but its yet to be determined at this time." The hospital hopes the new building will free up space to expand their cardiac care and other services.  What do you think about Gwinnett Med's plans for expansion? Tell us in the comments section below.
