Due to several new initiatives and events designed to maximize the number of adoptions from the shelter, the Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Services is in need of volunteers. "The ultimate goal is to reduce euthanasia and find every adoptable pet a home," according to a news release from Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. "Volunteers are an essential part of this goal, and we can’t do it without them." The shelter has several events and activities on the horizon, in addition to daily needs.
