Alexander Named New Principal of Simonton Elementary

Clifton Alexander will take over the Lawrenceville school for Dr. Chandra Young who is taking a new position. Also, an Assistant Principal at Jenkins will be principal at Suwanee Elementary.

The Gwinnett County Board of Education approved Clifton Alexander as the new Principal of Simonton Elementary School. He is currently an Assistant Principal at Meadowcreek Elementary where he has been since 2009.  Alexander previously worked at schools in Dekalb and Dougherty Counties. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Albany State, a Master's in Psychology and Counseling from Troy State and Specialist’s degree in Educational Administration from Central Michigan University.  He will take over for Dr. Chandra Young after she accepted a new position as Director of Leadership Development in the Division of Human Resources. Hot water sanitizer should reach a minimum of 160 F for adequate sanitization.
