The Better Business Bureau is warning that some gift cards may not be such a good, quick idea after all.

'Twas just hours before Christmas. And, if you still have shopping to do, a gift card may just end up being what you buy someone. However, some of those cards are actually more trouble than they're worth -- literally. The Better Business Bureau is advising consumers of what they should know before purchasing that all-too-convenient gift card. Gift Card Tips The Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act, which took effect in 2010, established standards that give consumers additional protections when using gift cards. Just what is Small Business Saturday and why should you support it in Lawrenceville?

GCPD Stepping Up Presence While You're Shopping for Presents

The Gwinnett County Holiday Task Force will be keeping a watchful eye at local malls and shopping center from Black Friday through New Year's Eve.

While you're out hunting for bargains, criminals may be hunting for their next victim. Because of this, the Gwinnett County Police is launching their annual Holiday Task Force.  Additional officers at malls and shopping plazas throughout Gwinnett County starting Thanksgiving evening. The Task Force will be out on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through New Year's Eve. GCPD hopes the greater presence will prevent crime against holiday shoppers. These crimes include robberies, entering autos, financial fraud and DUIs. GCPD is offering these tips to help keep you safe while you shop and celebrate the season:

What Time Will Sugarloaf Mills Open on Black Friday?

The Lawrenceville, Ga. mall, formerly Discover Mills, is letting shoppers have 22 hours to cross as many items off their Christmas lists as they can.

Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville, Ga. is ready for the holiday shopping season. They will open their doors to shoppers on Thanksgiving night at 11:30pm, so customers can get in place for when stores open at midnight. The mall, formerly called Discover Mills, will be open for shopping for 22 hours on Black Friday. It will be open midnight Friday until 10pm. Then re-open Saturday, November 24th at 9am and close at 10pm. On Sunday, the mall's hours are 11am until 7pm.
