The school will draw from the Berkmar and Central Gwinnett Clusters to help relieve the overcrowded high schools. A new elementary school and a new middle school were also approved.
In March, Gwinnett County School Board approved construction for a new high school in Lawrenceville. The high school will be located at 1335 Old Norcross Rd, right next to Benefield Elementary School. A red sign in front of the building reads “Bridgestone Center,” the name given to it by its’ previous life as a storage facility for Bridgestone Tires. However, the name will most likely change before classes start in 2015. “We will obviously make modifications for the facility to serve as a school,” said Jorge Quintana of Gwinnett County Public Schools. “This is something we've done before at Radloff Middle, Phoenix High, and most recently Lanier High.” The new high school will relieve the overcrowded campuses of Central Gwinnett High …

Hundreds came out to honor Robbie Susan Moore and Gwinnett County's newest school.
Hundreds packed the cafeteria at Moore Middle School to officially dedicate the building and honor the life of its namesake—Robbie Susan Moore. “She is very deserving of this dedication,” said Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson. “Not only because of her Lawrenceville residency, but because she lived her faith, she loved her family, and she always sought to educate.” Born in Winder in 1942, Moore moved to Lawrenceville after marrying her husband Eron Moore, Jr. in 1962. Moore was a pillar in the Gwinnett community—working with several non-profits, co-founding the United Ebony Society and organizing the Miss Black Gwinnett pageants are just part of her long list of community involvement. Moore served as a mentor to many, including Kiara Rogers. …

Principal Lamont Mays, teachers and staff invited students, parents and the public to a sneak preview of Moore Middle School.
Over 500 people got a first look at the classrooms, gymnasium and cafeteria in the new Moore Middle School at Sunday's Open House. This school was constructed using a modular design and build. Instead of being constructed brick-by-brick, this school was built using pre-fabricated panels built in a factory. The panels were then brought on slabs to the construction site, where they were then constructed. Moore is also a green conscious school. Lights throughout the building will not come on unless motion sensors are activated. If movement is not detected in a room, the lights will automatically shut off. The air conditioning in the building is also motion sensory. All in efforts to conserve energy and as Principal Lamont Mays said to be …
