The LONA Gallery recently moved a few doors down on Crogan St. in Downtown Lawrenceville and Sparkle is getting ready to do the same. But just why did they decide to relocate?
It’s like businesses in Downtown Lawrenceville are playing musical chairs. At the beginning of November, The LONA Gallery moved down the block on Crogan St. to a larger location. And on Thursday, we spotted Sparkle owner Meg Earhart cleaning the front window for her store’s future home—right next door to her current spot. The Little Shop of Antiques most recently occupied Sparkle’s new location. While the square footage is smaller than her current space next to Niko’s Wine Corner, it will allow Earhart to do more. “Over the last year, we started doing more and more shows. The sponsoring and planning committee for the festival is made up of business owners and leaders of Rita’s, Brown’s BBQ & Catering, The LONA Gallery, author Lisa Marie McNeill and the Lawrenceville Community Children’s Choir. While the festival had participation …

For sisters Carolyn Wright and Sylvia Culberson, opening an art gallery was a natural move considering their enduring interest in art. “I have a little bit of an art background,” Culberson said. “I was an interior design major in college.” She also has created some of her own artwork. Wright describes herself as “a longtime art lover.” Before opening LONA Gallery in downtown Lawrenceville in April 2010, Culberson and Wright had a home décor direct sale business together. “We started to meet a lot of artists and artisans, and we really love the downtown Lawrenceville area,” Wright said. “We started out with a few artists we were acquainted with, and we searched the area for other artists we could bring in.” Today, LONA Gallery, located at …
