Here are five fun ideas to help pass the time until those kids are back in the classrooms: Snow Painting: Take some empty spray bottles, fill them with water and a couple drops of food coloring. Bundle up the kids and let them use the snowy sidewalks as a canvas. Put on a Puppet Show: We all have mismatched socks. One gets lost in the dryer. Or maybe you got a hole in the heel. Hundreds of families turn out for first ever Early Eve in Downtown Lawrenceville.
Families with kids of all ages flocked to the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse and its grounds for one last day of fun in 2010. For the first time, Early Eve for Kids was added to the Lawrenceville Rings 2010 New Year's Eve Celebration. Rebekah Cline, marketing director for the Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association, says they came up with the idea because they wanted an event that was more family friendly. "Traditionally in the past, the event has been 7 to midnight each year," she said, "but this year we decided to start doing an Early Eve fest for Kids. It keeps them a little bit warmer in the daytime and also allows mom and dad to tuck them in bed a little earlier." The inaugural event featured activities for all from 3 to 6 p.m. …
