Lawrenceville Man Arrested in Connection to Armed Robbery, Hit and Run

Brandon Chance Ennis was arrested on five charges for two separate incidents.

A Lawrenceville man was arrested Thursday in connection to two separate incidents of an armed robbery and a hit and run. Brandon Chance Ennis, 18, of Lawrenceville, has been charged with violation of probation, driving while license suspended or revoked, and following too closely, in addition to the robbery and hit and run charges. On Jan. 27, two cousins from Lawrenceville told Gwinnett Police how they had been robbed while at a party at Highland Walk Apartment complex in the Norcross area. While walking to the party, they were confronted by an unknown man, who was later identified as Ennis. He asked who they were and what they were doing there. GCPD Looking for Van in Fatal Hit and Run

Police have the description of the van that reportedly hit and killed a man earlier this month.

The Gwinnett County Police Department now has a description of the van that allegedly struck and killed 25 year old Thiago Campos of Suwanee in a hit and run earlier this month. The Accident Investigation Unit is looking for a Dodge Ram van, similar to the one depicted in the photos. They do not know the color of the vehicle which struck Campos, however they say it should have damage to the front passenger side, including to the headlight.  GCPD says Campos was hit while attempting to cross Sugarloaf Parkway near Highway 316. Investigators say the driver did not stop and continued driving. The victim died on the scene. Suwanee Man Victim of Fatal Hit and Run in Lawrenceville

Police say 25 year old Thiago Campos was trying to cross Sugarloaf when he was struck.

A 25 year old man was struck and killed on Sugarloaf Parkway late Tuesday evening, according to Gwinnett County Police Department.  Investigators say Thiagos Campos of Suwanee was trying to cross Sugarloaf Parkway near highway 316 outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup truck. The driver was headed west toward 316 and did not stop after allegedly hitting Campos and left the scene. Based on debris left at the scene, investigators believe the vehicle involved in the hit and run is a late model Dodge Ram with damage to the front passenger side. The color has not been determined and police do not have a description of the driver. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to call the Gwinnett County Police Department …

Child Killed in Hit and Run, 16 y.o. Driver Faces Charges

A 9 year old girl was killed after being struck by a car on Club Dr.

Gwinnett Police arrested and charged a 16-year-old Lawrenceville driver who left the scene after his vehicle struck and killed a 9-year-old Lawrenceville girl about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (April 19) with hit and run and first degree vehicular homicide, police reported. The accident occurred on Club Drive in between Woodstream Drive and Kibbe Circle, near Northwood Country Club in unincorporated Duluth. The girl was identified as Gracelle Sanders. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was heading south on Club Drive driving a black 2001 Mazda Tribute, according to Gwinnett Police Cpl. Edwin Ritter. In response to Katha's comment, "Not that a 9 year old knows the rules of the road.": True. However, should an adult be punished because a child didn't know? It's a tragedy that should not be compounded by punishing the driver and his family for an accident. My theory is that the difference is more than just the hit and run.
