Publix Issues Voluntary Recall on Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad

The products could be infected with Listeria monocytogenes.

Publix Super Markets has issued a voluntary recall for Publix Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad since it may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. The company was notified of the potential contamination from their supplier, Allison's Gourmet Kitchens, according to a press release on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website. Publix Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad, UPC # 41415-39662, was distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. Product was sold in pre-packaged 12 ounce containers, and this recall involves all product sold from December 2012 through March 26, 2013. Suzanna's Kitchen Recalls Breaded Chicken Products

FreeBird chicken patties and nuggets processed by Duluth company may contain pieces of plastic. No injuries or illnesses reported.

Suzanna's Kitchen in Duluth, GA, has issued a recall for about 35,800 pounds of breaded chicken products it processed because they may contain pieces of plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Thursday, Dec. 6. The products subject to recall include: The nuggets and patties marked USDA-inspected were produced on March 15, 2012, and Sept. 6, 2011, for a separate federally inspected establishment and distributed to retail stores nationwide. FreeBird chicken products are organic and antibiotic-free. The problem was discovered as a result of consumer complaints about finding pieces of plastic in the products, according to FSIS. Trader Joe’s Recalls Salsa, Balela

Trader Joe's, based in Atlanta, announced a recall of salsa and balela sold under its brand in six states, including Georgia, because of the possibility of listeria contamination.

Although no illnesses have been reported, Trader Joe’s is recalling salsa and balela sold in stores in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and southern Virginia. The recall was prompted by Simmering Soup announcement, which stated that listeria monocytogenes was found at one of its plants. Diced onions from that plant were included in the products that Trader Joe’s recalled. On its website, Trader Joe’s announced that the following products were recalled: These products were only sold in the six southern states noted, and Trader Joe’s recalled the products as a precautionary measure. Dole Recalls 1,077 Cases of Bagged Salad

Products that pose Listeria risk were distributed across six states, including Walmart and Kroger stores in Georgia.

Recall notices can be found on the fresh produce stands in local Kroger and Walmart stores following the voluntary recall of 1,077 cases of bagged salad this week. A random sample test of one of Dole Fresh Vegetable packages tested positive for Listeria.  Dole initiated the recall after a random sample of Marketside Leafy Romaine in North Carolina tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause foodborne illness, Dole said in a statement. Symptoms include fevers, muscle aches, and nausea or diarrhea. Pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems are usually more affected by the illness, Dole said, but "most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill." Another Recall for Lawrenceville-Based Flying Food Group

The food manufacturer has issued a recall of items sold at RaceTrac due to a possible Listeria contamination.

Flying Food Group has issued a recall of some of its products sold at RaceTrac stores across the state of Georgia.  According to the Associated Press, the Lawrenceville based food manufacturer announced the recall Saturday and said the potentially deadly bacteria Listeria could be items produced by its plant. No illnesses related to the recall have been reported. Production at the plant has been suspended until an investigation can be completed.  The items recalled all have an expiration date of November 30, 2011. They include: the Chicken Quarter Pounder, the Chicken Quarter Pounder with Tomatoes, the Ham Quarter Pounder, the Ham Quarter Pounder with Tomatoes and the American Sub. Starbucks Issues Statement Following Food Recall

The coffee chain responds to the recall of products manufactured by a Lawrenceville company.

The following is a statement from Starbucks regarding this week's food recall: "As previously communicated, on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, we learned that Flying Food Group, LLC, in Lawrenceville, Ga., one of our suppliers, recalled ready-to-eat chicken wraps and plates delivered to Starbucks retail stores in Alabama and Georgia due to potential health concerns.   On July 26, 2011, we were informed by Flying Food Group that, at the request of the USDA, they expanded the recall to additional products including two Starbucks products, the Salami and Cheese Bistro Box and the Chicken Lettuce Wraps Bistro Box. Lawrenceville Food Manufacturer Suspends Production After Second Recall

Some 40 items sold at Starbucks, RaceTracs and other locations in Georgia, Alabama and Florida have been recalled.

More food recalls have been issued by a Lawrenceville manufacturer. Earlier this month, Flying Food Group recalled sandwiches which were sold at Starbucks throughout the county. Today the Food and Drug Administration announced an additional recall of some 40 items including sandwiches, parfaits and salads because they potentially could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. There have been no reported illnesses related to this issue.  The products were made for Starbucks, RaceTrac and Core-mark Atlanta and distributed in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. A Lawrenceville company is recalling ready-to-eat chicken products after concerns that it may be contaiminated with Listeria. In a July 19th press release, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Flying Food Group LLC is recalling approximately 204 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken wraps and plates. The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause the rare, potentially fatal disease listeriosis. The product was distributed to coffee stores in Georgia and Alabama, and are in 8.4-ounce packages of "Starbucks Chipotle Chicken Wraps Bistro Box" and the 6.3-ounce packages of "Starbucks Chicken & Hummus Bistro Box."
