Randy Ready was officially introduced as the new manager of the G-Braves at a press conference Thursday at Coolray Field.

Atlanta Braves Will Not Return to Coolray Field in 2013

The major league team will take its 'Future Stars' game to Mississippi this year.

Despite a sold-out crowd at Coolray Field last April, the Atlanta Braves will not return to Gwinnett for an encore in 2013. The major league team, which played an exhibition game vs. its "Future Stars" as a warmup for the 2012 season, will do the same in Mississippi this year. On Saturday, March 30, Atlanta will take on its minor-league stars in Pearl, Miss., home of the Class AA Mississippi Braves. In the 2012 game, the Future Stars were managed by former Atlanta manager Bobby Cox. And they gave the big club fits, forcing Atlanta to come from behind for a rain-shortened, 4-3 victory. Gwinnett Braves spokesperson Dave Lezotte said Friday that he has been told that the Future Stars game will return to Coolray "in the near future." Of course…

I can see how if you quickly read the headline and just see "Braves" you might think we were talking about the Gwinnett Braves, but that's why we referred to them as the "Atlanta Braves." And for the record, we try to refer to them as the "Gwinnett Braves" or "G-Braves" to avoid confusion with the MLB team that plays at Turner Field.   more ›

More Changes to G-Braves Schedule Due to Isaac

The Gwinnett Braves have scheduled a free game because of the heavy rains from Hurricane Isaac moving over Lawrenceville.

There's been another change to the last few days of the Gwinnett Braves' season. The game against the Pawtucket Red Sox, which was first moved to Tuesday at 2:05pm has been postponed until Wednesday afternoon. That game is now scheduled to start at 1:05pm-- weather permitting.  Wednesday's originally scheduled game had previously been moved to a doubleheader on Thursday starting at 5:05pm.  Because of all the changes, the G-Braves have decided to make all tickets to Wednesday's game free to the public. Tickets to Thursday's games will still be regularly priced. Thursday is the last game at Coolray Field for the season. The G-Braves' will close the 2012 season on the road against Norfolk Friday.
