Aurora Theatre continues the 2011-2012 Harvel Lab Series with the Spanish language production of El Insólito Caso de Miss Piña Colada (The Preposterous Case of Miss Piña Colada) by Carlos Ferrari. This outrageous comedy runs April 12 – 29, 2012. In the play, penniless widow Ofelia has been left with nothing but her pride by her deceased good-for-nothing husband. To regain some of her luster in “society,” she will stop at nothing to have her daughter, Loreley, crowned queen of the Miss Piña Colada beauty pageant. Ofelia pawns her belongings, fends off debt collectors and even causes her children to break the law. This April, Aurora Theatre becomes home to the hilarious hijinks of a widow trying to keep up appearances in the midst of …

Get ready for a comedy about a bunch of co-workers who turn the tables on a Bernie Madoff-type bad guy.
Ben Stiller plays an apartment building manager who, along with the other building staff members, gets ripped off by penthouse resident Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda). When the employees realize they have been swindled, they plan their revenge in the form of a "Tower Heist." After an FBI agent (played by Tea Leoni) leaks word about a large stash of cash in Shaw's apartment, Stiller's character hires Slide, a two-bit cat burglar played by Eddie Murphy, to plan the heist. When Murphy makes it on the screen, about 40 minutes in, the movie finally picks up. "Tower Heist" spends the rest of its running time tracking the staff members (played by Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick, Michael Pena and Gabourey Sidibe) as they try to infiltrate the penthouse …

A stand-up comedy tour featuring Muslim-American comedians is coming to Lawrenceville, to provide fun and laughs with a message of understanding.
Attention, Lawrenceville: The Muslims are coming! They're here to make you laugh, as they challenge misconceptions about their religion. The Aurora Theatre will host “The Muslims Are Coming!”, a stand-up comedy show produced by comedians Negin Farsad and Dean Obeidallah, who are creating a documentary of the same name. “The goal is to try to reach people, have a good time with comedy, and get to know people,” Obeidallah said. “It'll run the gamut from jokes about us to jokes about dating, politics and pop culture. It's just a comedy show that happens to have a message, but it's a subtle message.” Farsad and Obeidallah have worked together before, and this project was born out of a desire to spark interactions between Muslims and non-…

The Aurora Theatre's production of "Sirens" tells the story of a songwriter who follows a siren's song to a deserted island, only to realize his true love is back at home.
The Aurora Theatre's “Sirens” offers a whimsical glimpse into a mundane part of almost any marriage or romantic relationship – the stage where the excitement has started to fade and the prospect of staying committed to that one person seems more boring than comforting. In the play, this seems to be the state of Sam and Rose's marriage. Twenty-five years ago, the song Sam (Steve Coulter) wrote to convince Rose (Mary Lynn Owen) to marry him became a classic love song. But now, they can't keep from bickering as the visit a travel agent to plan a vacation for their anniversary. They exchange heated words that seem to be part of a long-standing fight. Sam is frustrated with both his marriage and his inability to write a song that matches his …
