12Stone Church is currently hiring for a Pastor of Spiritual Formation. The person in this position will oversee all of the adult ministries at the Lawrenceville church. This includes Small Groups, church-wide leadership development, Volunteer Mobilization, Marriage, Support and Recovery, Guest Services and New Believers.  The ideal candidate will have ten or more years experience in leading ministry teams and staff. News of New Pope Greeted with Excitement by Gwinnett Residents

The new pope is 76-year-old Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina, will be known simply as Pope Francis.

Even though many of the people watching with anticipation were not Catholic, local residents said they were anxiously awaiting the announcement and watching with excitement the pomp and circumstance in the square outside the Vatican on Wednesday afternoon. Local Archdiocese to Address Pope Benedict XVI Resignation

His resignation will go into effect on Feb. 28, and a successor should be named by Easter.

Pope Benedict XVI announced Monday he is resigning, effective Feb. 28. Archdiocese of Atlanta Archbishop Wilton Gregory will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. today to address questions and concerns. Local churches are not authorized to comment on the situation.  "It’s very new," said Meaghan Schroeder, assistant communications director for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Cooperative Ministry is helping those in need through hardships with food, clothing and faith.

She looked at the empty food pantry shelves and realized the mission of the Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry could not be done. The mission of feeding those in need would be impossible without food. So she and a pantry volunteer did the only thing they could---they prayed. “I said Lord you see these shelves and we are here to feed your people. And we need food. As soon as we said Amen there was a knock on the front door. I answered the front door and there was a church that had gotten lost with 500 cans of food coming through the door. Then there was a knock on the back door and there was the Boy Scouts with 1,500 cans of food. So within twenty minutes of praying for food we had over 2,000 cans. That was nine years ago and we have not …
