Donations Trickle in to the VIC

The Lawrenceville Visitors Information Center's first food drive meets with mild success.

The Lawrenceville Visitor Information Center in Downtown Lawrenceville completed its first food drive on Dec. 22, netting a total of about 50 cans. Canned goods and non-perishables were collected to benefit the Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry, whose mission is to assist individuals and families in need by providing food and limited emergency financial assistance. For every five cans donated, individuals were to be entered into a drawing to win Lawrenceville downtown dollars redeemable at more than 25 participating locations. Donations trickled in as word spread slowly of the event. "This is our first time holding a food drive.
