Two City Council seats and Sunday Alcohol Sales appear on the ballot.
Starting at 8am Monday, residents of the City of Lawrenceville will be able to cast their votes in the 2011 election. Voters will choose a new City Council member for Post 3 as Katie Hart Smith has decided not to run for re-election. The three candidates vying for Smith's seat are Bob Clark, Eric Reid and Brad Sullivan. Peter "P.K." Martin IV is looking to retain his position as Post 4 City Councilman, however Renita Hamilton and Rex Millsaps are both hoping to unseat him. Also on the ballot is a special election to determine if the City of Lawrenceville will allow the sale of alcoholic beverages at stores on Sundays. The six candidates in the race for a seat on the city council appeared at an information session at Forest Hills and Windsor Farms.
The neighborhood association at Forest Hills and Windsor Farms held a meet and greet Thursday evening so residents could get to know the candidates running for Lawrenceville City Council. All six candidates were showed up and answered questions from the association board and residents.
