Sharon Amolo of Gwin Oaks Elementary School was named Gwinnett County Public School's Media Specialist of the Year.
The minor league baseball team awarded their monthly grant to the theatre in downtown Lawrenceville.
The Lawrenceville, Ga. high school took home the top prize in the 2013 Tests of Engineering, Aptitude, Mathematics and Science competition at the University of Georgia.

The City of Lawrenceville's Tourism & Trade Association and Downtown Development Authority honored organizations and individuals trying to renovate, remodel and revitalize the downtown area. Both GMC in Lawrenceville and Duluth were named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability Quality Honor Roll.
Gwinnett Medical Center received a top honor from a statewide hospital organization. The Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability named GMC to their Quality Honor Roll. GMC was one of 61 medical facilities in Georgia to make the Presidential category, one of the highest on the list. The selection was based upon data collected by the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services for one year in 2010. “This is a great accomplishment for GMC,” said Joseph Parker, president of GHA in a release. “This recognition further underscores the commitment of the GMC staff ensuring that every patient receives the best, most effective health care possible.” The data collected measures how well a hospital's caregivers …
