Take the kids to see "The Garden of Iz" at the New Dawn Theatre Company in Duluth Wednesday. It's not your typical play where the little ones have to try to sit quietly in their seats. Children can jump, crawl and dance and be part of the show. The play is recommended for kids ages three to seven. Showtime is at 11am Wednesday through Friday. Make the short drive over to Duluth to check out the Red Clay Theatre's weekly family friendly shows. This week's performer is Miss Tara as she presents "Jelly Beans and More." Showtime is at 10:30am. Tickets are $3.

Aurora Theatre continues the 2011-2012 Harvel Lab Series with the Spanish language production of El Insólito Caso de Miss Piña Colada (The Preposterous Case of Miss Piña Colada) by Carlos Ferrari. This outrageous comedy runs April 12 – 29, 2012. In the play, penniless widow Ofelia has been left with nothing but her pride by her deceased good-for-nothing husband. To regain some of her luster in “society,” she will stop at nothing to have her daughter, Loreley, crowned queen of the Miss Piña Colada beauty pageant. Ofelia pawns her belongings, fends off debt collectors and even causes her children to break the law.
