The following Lawrenceville residents were booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center on September 6, 2012. Those arrested and their charges include: Emir Terzic, 637 Mccart Rd, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Christina Marie Moore, 402 Summer Ridge Ln, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension/criminal. Amber Lea Treadway, 122 Bernice Dr, was arrested and charged with violation of probation, crossing guard line drugs, weapons, VGCSA-schedule IV, VGCSA-schedule III, obstruction law enforcement officer, theft by deception and theft by receiving. Media coverage of the burglary in Lawrenceville led to the identification of Damion Burnell who reportedly broke into a house where a 10 year old was home alone. Police are now asking for the public's help in finding him.

On July 27th, shortly after two men broke into a house where 10 year old Christopher King was home alone, Gwinnett County Police stopped Damion Burnell for questioning. This happened not too far from King's home on Halcyon Way in unincorporated Lawrenceville. However, the 20 year old Burnell's clothing did not match the suspect's description and he denied knowledge of the burglary or knowing D’andrew Greene. Greene, 19, was caught and arrested as he tried to flee the scene. Since officers did not have enough evidence to hold Burnell, they let him go. After seeing coverage of the crime reported by Lawrenceville Patch and other news outlets, an anonymous caller contacted police and told them the second suspect was in fact Burnell. The …

Gwinnett County Police arrested one of their own Friday. In a release, GCPD announced the arrest of David D. Lowe. The 26 year old Lowe graduated from the police academy earlier this month. Lowe is charged with electronically furnishing obscene material to minors. Investigators are looking into additional charges. GCPD's Special Victims Unit received a tip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations about explicit video on the website MyYearbook.com, a site designed for use by minors. The site allows users to create a profile and only interact with people in their age range. For example, if a 14 year old creates a profile, they will only be able to interact with users between the age of 13 and 16. The tip from GBI showed that an unknown …

The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force announced the arrest of Kevin Heumaneus, 44 of Lawrenceville. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 19th in Ringgold, GA, near the Tennessee border. Agents in the FBI-led Safe Child Task Force said Heumaneus allegedly came out to Ringgold to have sex with a minor. FBI representatives said Heumaneus came to their attention after following his conversations online where he began chatting with undercover agents and officers about wanting to have sex with a child. Heumaneus is currently in custody at the Catoosa County Detention Center on State charges related to Computer Pornography and attempted child molestation.

Gwinnett County Police Department arrested three teens who they say are gang members on outstanding warrants for burglary on April 5th.The group was arrested on the 1400 block of Pleasant Hill Rd. in unincorporated Lawrenceville. According to a police report, one of the teens was carrying a Spongebob Squarepants back pack. Officers searched that bag and found a Playstation 3 and several games inside. The police ran the serial number of the gaming console and it was not reported stolen at that time. The officers also discovered evidence of possible gang affiliation and learned the three teens may be members of the "Young Black Mafia." Gwinnett County Police say Jennifer Banks was attacked outside the CVS Pharmacy at 1525 Buford Drive shortly after 7pm on Tuesday, February 15th. According to a release, Banks was about to get out of her car when a man said "Hey," to grab the woman's attention. The suspect, later identified as 20 year-old Marcus Blakeney of Lawrenceville,allegedly hit Banks in the face and arm about eight times. Banks tried to escape by climbing into the passenger seat and tried to open the passenger door, but Blakeney reportedly locked the doors, trapping the victim inside.
