High School football opens this week with scrimmage games.
High school football in Georgia is not quite ready for prime time, but dress rehearsals are scheduled in and around the area this week.
Scrimmage football games, practice encounters in preparation of the official start of the season later this month, give coaches and players a chance to gauge their progress, and communities a test drive of the Friday night experience.
According a preseason schedule compiled by the Georgia High School Football Daily, here are five scrimmages games coming up involving Lawrenceville teams, or others nearby.
