Gwinnett Braves Release 2012 Non-Profit Partnership Series

During the 2012 season, the team will recognize non-profit groups.

New for the 2012 season, the Gwinnett Braves will recognize non-profits in the community and help bring awareness, support and funds for their causes. The Non-Profit Partnership Series, is an all-inclusive program which will allow various organizations who volunteer for a common cause to rally together.

The series follows the monthly themes of the .

The program will kick-off Sunday April 15th with "All About Kids," which will focus on organizations that benefit children. It concludes Sunday, August 26th with "Red, White and Blue," and recognize groups that support the military or military families.

All grant applicants will get free tickets to the G-Braves game and have an opportunity to have a display table for their organizations. They will also be able to sell tickets to the game as a fundraiser.

The recipients of the Gwinnett Braves Grant Program will also have a pre-game PSA shown on the big screen and have an on-field check presentation.

All non-profit groups who fall under these categories are welcome to participate, even if they have not previously applied for a grant.

Here is the calendar for the Non-Profit Partnership Series: 

Sunday, April 15 – All About Kids – Organizations that benefit children.

Sunday, May 6 –  – Four Legged Friends – Organizations that benefit animals.

Sunday, May 13 – Thanksgiving – Organizations that work to end hunger and/or homelessness, that support children and families that are homeless, or that run and maintain a food bank.

Sunday, May 27 – I Have a Dream – Organizations that grant wishes, dreams and opportunities for the youth, elderly, injured or sick.

Sunday, June 17 – Heart Month – Organizations that bring awareness and/or raise funds for heart related diseases and illnesses or that promotes a healthy diet and fitness programs for children.

Sunday, July 1 – Salute to the Arts – Organizations that support art programs or education.

Sunday, July 8 – Take Me Out to the Ballgame – Organizations that promote youth athletics or activities.

Sunday, July 22 – Cancer Awareness – Organizations that bring awareness to cancer prevention/detection or that raise funds for cancer research.

Wednesday, July 25 – Christmas in July – Season of Giving – Organizations that benefit youth, education or sports programming.

Sunday, August 12 – Summer Safety – Organizations that fund or run safety programs for children.

Thursday, August 23 – Educator Appreciation Day – Back to School – Organizations that support education or after school/mentoring programs.

Sunday, August 26 – Red, White and Blue – Organizations that support the military or military families.

The G-Braves will open their 2012 season on the road on Thursday, April 5th against the Durham Bulls. Their first home game at will be Thursday, April 12th also against Durham.
