Uggla Joins Gwinnett Braves for Rehab Stint Following LASIK Surgery

The Atlanta Braves infielder will play with the minor league team starting Monday night at Coolray Field.

Another Atlanta Braves player is headed to Lawrenceville for rehab.

Dan Uggla was added to the Gwinnett Braves roster Monday as he tries to get back on track after undergoing LASIK surgery to improve his eyesight. The 33 year old infielder went on the Atlanta Braves' disabled list August 13. He is expected to begin the assignment Monday night when the G-Braves take on the Norfolk Tides at Coolray Field.

First pitch is at 6:05pm.

Uggla will be the twelfth Atlanta Braves player to rehab with Gwinnett. Jason Heyward and Brian McCann rehabbed with the G-Braves in May and B.J. Upton in July, among others.

Monday's game is the start of the G-Braves final homestand for the season.
