Tampa Bay Storm to Host Open Tryouts in Lawrenceville

Arena football team offers open tryouts for interested players on Saturday, Nov. 3.

The five time world champion Tampa Bay Storm will host open tryouts on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville.

The Tampa Bay Storm is an arena football team based out of Florida. Tryouts are open to all interested players and participants will compete to earn the opportunity to sign a professional contract with the team. All tryouts will be held over a one day period with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and tryouts starting at 9 a.m.

Head coach of the Tampa Bay Storm, Dave Ewart will direct the tryouts. Ewart's coaching staff will be present to evaluate players in combine exercises that include the 40-yard dash, 20-yard short shuttle and 20-yard L-drill. According to a press release from the Tampa Bay Storm, player height, weight and wing span will be recorded and players will also participate in position and one-on-one drills.

Interested players may pre-register online at www.tampabaystorm.com for a $60 fee. Online registration will end on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Registration will also be available at Mountain View High School on the day of the tryouts. Registration fees at tryouts will be $70. Payment may be paid by cash or money order.

Tryouts will be held on grass, cleats are permitted. This will be a non-contact camp, no pads or helmets are needed. All players must be older than 19 years of age and must have completed high school eligibility. ID is required and kickers will be evaluated at the end of tryouts.
