The Gwinnett Braves fell to a season-high five games off the IL South lead Monday after a 5-4 loss to Indianapolis.
Gwinnett starting pitcher Jose Lugo allowed five runs and four hits in 6.1 innings. Offensively, Ernesto Mejia was 2-for-4 with a home run in the loss.
Cory Gearrin added 2.2 scoreless, hitless innings in relief of Lugo.
The teams play again Tuesday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. (7:05 p.m.)
