Collins Hill Park Gets Remote-Controlled Lighting System

Lights can be controlled via computer or smartphone.

A local youth sports group has partnered with the county to install wireless  controls to the sports field lights.

The Collins Hill Youth Athletic Association will pay the $17,000 in costs over the next 10 years, according to a Gwinnett County press release. The system at Collins Hill Park in Lawrenceville will allow the lights to be controlled via computer or mobile device and output usage data to help control energy costs.

The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners approved the arrangement Tuesday, March 4.
