Recruiters Shine Spotlight on Central Gwinnett

In the past several years, the Lawrenceville high school has received much interest from college football recruiters.

Central Gwinnett High School has become a hotbed for college coaches, according to one recent ESPN report.

Two years ago, there was earnest recruiting of Francis Kallon, a defensive end who went on to sign with Georgia Tech.

Then there was Trey Johnson, who landed in the ESPN 150. Last year, the top linebacker was aggressively pursued, and he eventually signed with Ohio State.

However, the 2014 ESPN 150 is already out. No players from Central Gwinnett High are on that list.

But, two other Gwinnett County players are:

  • Lorenzo Carter, a defensive end at Norcross High
  • Dante Sawyer, a defensive end at North Gwinnett High
