Aurora's Rodriguez, Cornerstone at Novologic Winners of Local Awards

Lawrenceville's creativity was well represented at the Partnership Gwinnett 2013 Awards on Friday. Each year, the organization announces the winners of their Imagination, Innovation, and Influence Awards during their annual summit.

This year, the Aurora Theatre's Anthony Rodriguez was named the Individual Winner of the Imagination Award. Rodriguez is the Producing Artistic Director at Aurora. He was selected for "his delivery of bold, diverse theatre, which has helped drive the Gwinnett arts community to become one characterized by participation, inclusiveness, and widely acclaimed success" according to the release. In the past year, Rodriguez brought the musical Les Misérables to the Lawrenceville theater. That production won five Suzi Awards for Aurora.

“We are continually looking for ways to amplify the theatre experience, engage more Gwinnettians, and build a stronger, more inclusive arts community,” said Rodriguez in a release.

Cornerstone at Novologic was named the Company Winner of the Imagination Award. They opened at the edge of the square in April. Cornerstone was recognized for their "creation of a visionary co-working space and collaborative atmosphere that encourages the sharing of ideas, talents, and experience in downtown Lawrenceville."
