Two Lawrenceville High Schools Receive Sportsmanship Award

Mountain View and Archer High School recently recognized for their exceptional sportsmanship qualities.

and have both been selected as winners of the 2011 Georgia Electric Membership Corporation Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award. This award recognizes schools in Georgia that demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship during competitive school events.

Overall 40 GHSA-member high schools received the 2011 Award. Winners of this award are selected by the GHSA region secretaries and are presented annually to the GHSA-member high schools in the 40 regions by EMC’s representatives during fall events or school assemblies. was the winner in the 7-AAAAA division and in the 8-AAAAA division.

The Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award was first introduced back in 2006 and strives to enforce the GHSA philosophy “Students, athletes, coaches, spectators, and all others associated with high school activities programs should adhere to the fundamental values of respect, fairness, honesty and responsibility.”
