Schepens Named Principal of Crews Middle School

She currently is an Assistant Principal at Moore Middle School in Lawrenceville, Ga.

The Gwinnett County Board of Education announced four new GCPS principals during a special called meeting on Friday. The vacancies are the result of retirements, transfers and departures by current principals.

Dr. Stacey Schepens will take over as principal of Crews Middle School in the next few weeks.

2011-Present  — Assistant Principal, Moore Middle.

2007-2011 — Assistant Principal, McConnell Middle.

2004-2007 — 8th Grade Mathematics Teacher and Dept. Chair, Duluth Middle.

2001-2004  —  6th Grade and 8th Grade  Mathematics Teacher, Lanier Middle.

Other Employment

1996-2001 — Teacher, Huntington Learning Center.

1993-1996 — 9-12 Grade Mathematics Teacher, A.A. Stagg High (Illinois).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics – Northwestern University.

Master’s degree in Educational Leadership – Mercer University.

Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership – Mercer University.

Dr. Schepens is a graduate of the school district’s 2011 Quality-Plus Leader Academy, Aspiring Principal Program. She will transfer to the Brookwood Cluster and lead Crews Middle as Principal Dr. Vince Botta joins the Division of Human Resources as a Staffing Director.

The other three new principals are Dr. Brenda Johnson, Centerville Elementary; Dr. Yvette Arthur, Lilburn Middle; and Jason Lane, Mill Creek.
