Gwinnett Tech's First Class of Nurses to Graduate
31 graduates have completed GTC's registered nursing program which started in 2009.
The inaugural class of 's nursing program will be receive their nursing pins in a special ceremony on Wednesday. The 31 graduates are the first to finish the school's registered nursing associate degree program, which began in September 2009. They will join more than 550 other Gwinnett Tech graduates at the college's commencement exercises on Thursday.
Although the graduates will have to take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses in order to work as an RN, nearly 40 percent of them have already received .
Gwinnett Tech hopes to double the size of its nursing class to 60 with the opening of the new Life Sciences Center this fall.
