GGC, GNR Openings Delayed Due to Wintry Weather

The campus will open two hours late on Monday. The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Department also announced 10 a.m. openings.


Update 10:30 p.m. -
The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Department announced all locations will open at 10 a.m. Monday after a two hour delay.

Georgia Gwinnett College announced they will delay opening Monday, January 6 due to inclement weather.

In an alert sent to the campus community, GGC officials said the school will open at 10 a.m. Monday, two hours later than usual.

The first day of classes is Wednesday, January 8.

The National Weather Service in Atlanta has issued a winter weather advisory for the Lawrenceville area. It will be in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday. NWS is forecasting rain turning into snow and sleet. We could see up to a half an inch of snow and slick roads in the morning. Wind chills could register as low as -13 according to NWS.
