More than 270 students donned their caps and gowns Friday, as they graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College.

It was a notable graduation for the young college in Lawrenceville for a number of reasons. GGC graduated their 1,000th student, welcomed their first double major and double degree graduates and their first Fulbright Scholar.

The commencement was also the last for GGC's founding president Dr. Daniel Kaufman. He will step down at the end of June to become president of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
