GCPS to Host Informational Sessions for Online Campus

Several sessions wil be held throughout the county, including at Central Gwinnett High School.

Gwinnett County Public Schools will hold a number of information sessions about their Online Campus this fall and winter. The online charter school is open to middle and high school students for the fall of 2012. It offers Gwinnett residents a full-time online option for learning. Gwinnett County families can learn more about registration for the Online Campus at the information sessions.

Here are the dates and locations for the sessions: 

  ·    Nov. 3 – South Gwinnett High Theater
  ·    Nov. 17 – Parkview High Theater
  ·    Dec. 1 – Meadowcreek High Theater
  ·    Dec. 8 – Theater
  ·    Jan. 5 – Grayson High Theater
  ·    Jan. 12 – Mill Creek High Theater
  ·    Jan. 19 – Collins Hill High Theater
  ·    Jan. 26 – North Gwinnett High Commons Area
  ·    Feb 2. – Duluth High Theater

Sessions for parents and students looking at the middle school level will take place from 6:30 to 7:15pm at all locations. High school sessions run from 7:15-8:30pm.

The Online Campus launched this past August with approximately 160 students enrolled in grades 9-12. The middle school program will welcome its first students in the fall of 2012. Fourth and fifth graders can begin online courses in the fall of 2013.

Registration for current 5th to 11th graders will take place February 1st through 29th, 2012. Students do not need to currently attend Gwinnett County schools but must be residents of the county. All interested students will be accepted unless there are more applicants than available spaces, in which case a random lottery will be used to select students.
