GCPS Delaying Release at Some Schools

GCPS announced that all high schools have been released, however this will cause a delay with middle school and elementary school bus routes.

The following message was published on Gwinnett County Public School's website in light of Wednesday afternoon's tornado warning:

With the heavy rain and weather watches in the area, a number of Gwinnett high schools affected by the weather are delaying dismissal to allow for the inclement weather to move through. Students will be held at school in a safe location until it is safe to dismiss students. Note that this will result in a delay of elementary and middle school bus routes later in the afternoon.

The tornado warning has been lifted, however, a tornado watch is in effect until 7pm.
