GCPS Announces Lawrenceville's Valedictorians and Salutatorians

Gwinnett County Public Schools announced the valedictorians and salutatorians for Archer, Central Gwinnett, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology and Mountain View high schools. They are as follows:

Archer High School

Katelynn Burkhart, Valedictorian

Katelyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Burkhart. She will attend Brigham Young University in the fall where she plans to major in Biology. She hopes to be a pediatric physical therapist one day. Katelyn was captain of the Tigers' Marching Band and treasurer of both the National Honor Society and Beta Club.

Samantha Healy, Salutatorian

Samantha is the daughter of Sonya Cousino. She plans to major in Biology at Berry College. Samantha hopes to one day be a biologist and conduct research at CDC or EPA. She was named Miss Archer, a University of Georgia Merit Scholar, and was previously a

Central Gwinnett High School

Christopher Rhett Henry, Valedictorian

Christopher Henry is the son of Sherry Lynn Henry. Next fall, he plans to study English/Creative Writing at Emory University. He hopes to one day be a novelist, director, actor and public speaker. Christopher is also the captain of the Debate Team and a member of the Speech Team.

Anna “Eileen" Dilks, Salutatorian 

Eileen is the daughter of Darrell and Lori Dilks. She will attend the United States Naval Academy in the fall. Eileen plans to study General Science or Mechanical Engineering with the hopes of one day going to medical school and becoming an orthopedic surgeon. She is a four-year letter member of the varsity swim team as well as a member the Black Knight's band.

Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology

Seong Jin Park, Valedictorian

Seong Jin Park is the son of Heung Cheon Park and Soon Seon Park. Next fall, he plans to study Neuroscience and Behavior at Columbia University. He hopes to pursue a career as a neuroscientist. Seong is a National AP Scholar, National Merit Finalist, Gates Millennium Finalist.

Joshua Chang, Salutatorian

Joshua Chang is the son of Min-Hwa Hu. In the fall, Joshua will attend University of Georgia where he plans to major in Biological Sciences. In the future, Joshua hopes to pursue a career as a medical and scientific researcher. He is president of the National Honor Society and a member of the Science Olympiad and the Beta Club.

Mountain View High School

Victor Alexander Ubiera, Valedictorian

Victor Alexander Ubiera is the son of Martha Jimenez and Bertoldino Ubiera. He will attend either Lee University or Furman University in the fall. Victor plans to major in Music Education. He hopes to one day get his Master’s and Doctorate in Conducting and become a choral conductor at a college. He is the president of the Choral Council and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Sam Yang, Salutatorian

Sam Yang is the son of Sye and Hee Yang. He plans to attend Emory University in the fall but has not yet decided on a major. Sam is Senior Class President, a Gates Millennium Scholar and treasure of the Beta Club.
