Central Gwinnett Cluster Undergoing Redistricting

There will be some changes due to the opening of Moore Middle School.

Gwinnett County Public Schools announced Thursday a plan to redistrict two of its clusters, including Central Gwinnett.Β 

The change will affect the middle school feeder pattern with the anticipated opening of in August 2011.

This will create two new feeding patterns for Moore and Schools. Students who are currently enrolled at and Elementary Schools will go on to Moore for 6th through 8th grades. , Jenkins and Elementary students will continue on to Richards.

This cluster adjustment was part of a plan initiated in 2009 which created the attendance zone for Jenkins Elementary.

Letters have already gone out to families affected by the changes.

In a release, GCPS said the redistricting will help to relieve overcrowded schools and balance enrollment among the schools. The school system also noted that the process went through several committees and public meetings before the plans were finalized.

There will also be a shift in the Shiloh cluster, and in April, redistricting plans for will be solidified.
