5 Mountain View, 1 Central Gwinnett Seniors Named Gates Millenium Scholars

The six will receive a full scholarship for their entire college career to the school of their choice.

Twelve Gwinnett County Public School seniors were selected as Gates Millenium Scholars. Six of them attend high schools in Lawrenceville. Five students currently attend Mountain View High School and one will graduate from Central Gwinnett. The winners will receive a full scholarship to the college of their choice for each academic year.

Here are the six students from Lawrenceville high schools and where they will be attending college:

The group of 12 is the largest ever selected from Gwinnett County. They were chosen for their high academic performance, community involvement, extracurricular activities and family financial need.

The program is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and administered by the United Negro College Fund

Representatives from the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program will honor the students, their families and counselors on Friday, May 10th in Suwanee.
