Pleasant Hill Road Bridge Reopens Ahead of Schedule

The bridge is scheduled to open to traffic at 11am. It was initially planned to reopen Monday morning.

Good news for drivers. The Pleasant Hill Road bridge is reopening early.

Gwinnett County announced Sunday morning that the bridge will open to drivers at 11am-- nearly a full day ahead of schedule.

The bridge connecting Lawrenceville residents to the Gwinnett Place Mall and Duluth was shut down Friday night to complete the Diverging Diamond Interchange crossover.

With the new DDI in place, traffic will shift to the opposite side of the bridge. It should make left turns onto I-85 easier and improve the flow of traffic over the bridge.

For information on how to drive the diamond, including a video rendering of the completed project, visit www.gwinnettDDI.com or www.gwinnettplacecid.com.
