Get Married for Free on 11/12/13

Gwinnett County Magistrate and Probate Courts will perform free weddings on the unique date.

Gwinnett County judges are giving brides and grooms the ultimate wedding gift on Tuesday, November 12, 2013-- or 11/12/13. The gift of a free wedding.

Both the Magistrate and Probate Courts will perform free weddings on the date. The free ceremonies will be offered from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.

Couples wishing to get married must bring a valid marriage license to the wedding. They can get a license through the Probate Court at (770) 822-8250.

The ceremonies will be performed on a first come, first serve basis and wait times may vary based on volume.

The courts are also announcing new wedding hours. Starting Wednesday, Nov. 13, Magistrate Court will conduct ceremonies on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Probate Court will perform ceremonies on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on county holidays or during inclement weather.

The courts have also performed free weddings on Valentine's Day and other significant dates.
