Woman Tries to Hide From Police Under a Bed Spread

The Lawrenceville woman, who reportedly escaped from a work detail, also tried to hide in a shower.

A concerned mother called Lawrenceville Police on Thursday, January 16 to check up on her daughter, whom she feared was using drugs.

An officer went to the Metro Extended Stay at 652 Buford Drive to look for 29 year old Bridget Camp. The officer knocked on the door and a man answered. He asked the man if he knew where Camp was. The man started to mumble and then pointed to the far side of the bed.

The officer went over to the bed and found the woman lying on the floor, covering herself with the bedspread.

“I see you,” said the officer loudly. He then pulled the bedspread off Camp. He asked the woman why she was hiding. With slurred speech, she told him she was not hiding.

The officer told Camp to call her mother and then left the hotel.

As he was heading back to his car, he received a message that Camp was supposed to be at her work release. An escape warrant for Camp had been issued early in the evening.

The officer went back to the hotel room and knocked on the door. Again, the man answered the door. The officer asked him where Camp was. He told the officer she was in the bathroom.

Camp was found hiding behind the shower curtain.

She was arrested and charged with escape and violation of probation.
