Woman Arrested for Skimming Credit Cards at Lawrenceville Restaurant

According to Lawrenceville Police, Laura-Grace Tanis would go into the restroom to allegedly steal customers information.

Lawrenceville Police say a waitress at was skimming customers credit card information while on the job Saturday evening.

According to the police report, a customer complained to a supervisor at the restaurant at 706 Grayson Hwy, saying their credit card had been used. The supervisor started paying close attention to her employees. She noticed taking the customers' credit cards into the restroom before ringing up their bill.

The supervisor confronted Tanis and asked her for her apron. In one of the apron's pockets, she found a credit card skimmer and a cell phone. Tanis told her boss the device was for downloading music.Β 

Tanis, 24 of Saddle Shoals Dr in Lawrenceville, was arrested and charged with possession of a financial card reader device and credit card transaction fraud. She posted $22,400 in bond and was released from the Sunday morning.

Investigators do not know at this time how many victims there are and how much money was stolen.
