Vacant Home Destroyed by Fire

Crews responded to the fire shortly after 6 this morning.

Gwinnett Fire crews battled an early morning house fire on New Hope Rd. near Sugarloaf Pkwy. At around 6am, a passerby reportedly called 9-1-1 after seeing flames from the home. When firefighters arrived, they found the single-story wood frame house fully involved. According to the owner, the home was vacant and not lived in at the time. No injuries were reported. The home was deemed a total loss. Parts of New Hope Rd and Sugarloaf Pkwy North were closed for a time due to equipment in the roadway.
