Teens Suspected in 4 Small Fires Reported Near Lawrenceville

None of the fires set in wooded areas caused significant damage.

Four separate small fires set Tuesday night in the Sweewater Road area of Lawrenceville was the work of teenagers.

Gwinnett Fire investigators are trying to ID the group — three to four older teens who were seen in close proximity to the fires, Capt. Tommy Rutledge said.

The first fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of Sweetwater Road.

“In all, there were three separate fires that were intentionally set in the wood line between the Prescott Apartment complex and the Cascade Apartment complex,” Rutledge said in a press release. “Remnants of a fourth grass/woods fire were also discovered across the street on Sweetwater Road in front of the Prescott Apartments.”

None of the fires caused significant damage.
