Suspected Walmart Rapist, Kidnapper Arrested

Lawrenceville Police say they have arrested a man suspected of kidnapping a woman from a Lawrenceville Walmart parking lot and raping her before stealing her car.

On Sunday, October 20, police received a call that a woman was sexually assaulted. The victim told police she was leaving the Walmart at 1400 Lawrenceville Highway at about 9:30pm.

According to the police report, the victim told investigators a man came up behind her in the parking lot, put his arm around her neck and told her to get in her car. The suspect, later identified as 19 year-old Emmanuel Brandon Dupree of Lawrenceville, reportedly held a knife to the woman's neck after forcing her into her own vehicle.

The victim told police Dupree drove her to a nearby location where he allegedly raped her. He then drove off in the victim's car and threw the woman's clothes out the window.

Dupree was arrested early Monday morning.

Police spotted the victim's car at the Days Inn on 741 West Pike Street, Lawrenceville during a routine patrol.

Officers went from room to room looking for whomever was driving the car. During the search, they found a suspect matching the description provided by the victim.

Dupree is charged with rape, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy and possession of a knife while in the commission of a felony.

He is currently being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
