Restaurant Fire Ruled Arson

Evidence was found that a fire at the Hall of Fame Restaurant was intentionally set.

Gwinnett County Fire investigators just announced this morning that a fire at the has been ruled arson. Investigators say they found evidence that pointed to an intentionally set fire. 

At around 1:30am Friday, a Lawrenceville police officer on a routine patrol noticed smoke and flames coming from the Hall of Fame Restaurant and called the Gwinnett Fire Department. The restaurant is located at 335 W. Pike St.

When fire crews arrived, they entered the building to find dense smoke and fire inside.  The restaurant was not open at the time and no one was at the business when fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

The one-alarm fire caused extensive damage to the inside of the restaurant. There was not a lot of visible damage to the building's exterior.

The fire is still under investigation by the fire department.
