Predawn Fire Damages 4 homes, Displaces 13, near Lawrenceville

No serious injuries reported in large blaze on Morning Glory Lane.

An early morning fire on Morning Glory Lane near Lawrenceville damaged four homes and displaced more than a dozen people.

According to a press release from Gwinnett Fire spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden, fire crews responded to a fire report a little before 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 on the 2300 block of Morning Glory and found a large fire that had spread to three adjacent homes. No serious injuries were reported.

This is an area off Huff Drive near Lawrenceville Highway.

The house of the originating fire was a total loss down to the foundation, and three vehicles in the driveway were damaged.

The house to the left had heavy damage to the roof, and the house next to that one that damage to its vinyl siding. The house to the right had extensive damage to the attic.

Rhoden said in the emailed press release that seven adults and six children needed Red Cross assistance.

The fire is under investigation.
