Police: Woman Who Caused Fatal Ga. 316 Wreck Wanted for Vehicular Homicide in DeKalb

Chain-reaction wreck killed 1, shut down freeway for hours.

The woman who police say was at fault in Sunday afternoon’s fatal multi-vehicle accident on Ga. 316 was also wanted for vehicular homicide in DeKalb County.

Sabrina Townes, 32, of Lawrenceville was taken into custody and may face charges, WSB-TV reported.

The wreck underneath the Lawrenceville-Suwanee bridge killed Pamela Leake, 39, of Lawrenceville, and closed down the freeway for hours into the evening.

Lawrenceville Police Capt. Jeff Smith said the evidence points to a red Isuzu causing the accident while passing traffic in the emergency lane. It started a chain reaction that involved seven vehicles.
