Police Say Lawrenceville Man Left Baby Alone in Woods

Gwinnett Police have charged Rayvon Gray with abandoning his 5-month-old child.

A Lawrenceville man was charged this week with abandoning his 5-month-old daughter after a domestic incident at his home, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Rayvon Lamont Gray, 21, of the 500 block of James Road, was charged with with domestic violence battery, reckless conduct and cruelty to children after his daughter was left alone in the woods about 300 yards from his home. The child was found unhurt.

Gray had disappeared after arguing with the girl's mother and his own mother, who had fled the house with a knife and called the police, the paper reported.

Gray's family told CBS Atlanta that Gray had called his mother to tell her where he left the baby and had wrapped her in his jacket before leaving. Gray was being held without bond.
