Police ID Wrong-Way Driver in Hwy. 316 Crash

The driver of the 1997 Honda Civic was Gerson Ambrocio Hernan, 22, of Stockbridge, as reported by the Gwinnett Daily Post.
Speed and reckless driving appear to be factors in the crash, according to the article, and a pending blood test will determine if alcohol played a part in the collision.

According to a news release from Sgt. Rich Long of Gwinnett Police, reports started coming in around 2 a.m. March 30 about the wrong-way driver on the DeKalb County side of I-85 South. Numerous units attempted to intercept the vehicle for miles but were unsuccessful.
Traveling east, Hernan made his way onto Highway 316 West and struck two guard rails. The car broke into two pieces. He died on scene.
